LOCATION: United Water Contract Services -- Orange, NJ
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: The Utility Crew Foreman will directly supervise a crew and participate in the maintenance and repairs of water distribution and sewer collection systems as well as equipment associated with the water treatment facility, the storage facility, and wells, reporting directly to the Project Manager. Maintains written and computer records of all equipment service and activity. Monitors the use of materials, equipment parts and supplies, recommends the purchase of new and replacement materials, equipment, parts and supplies, and records the usage of such materials, equipment, parts and supplies. Coordinates activities of and assigns tasks to the repair and service personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Formal training in areas specific to the principal duties is preferred. At least 5 years of full-time paid experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities and equipment, with 2 years direct supervision of crew personnel. Must possess NJDEP certification class T and/or W operator licenses. Ability to operate equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of the systems including backhoe, jackhammer and dump truck. Good communication and strong supervisory skills along with the ability to read and interpret plans, system drawings, blueprints, etc. are essential. Strong computer ability with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance management programs is preferred. Valid NJ Driver’s License required. Ability to obtain CDL within one year.
